I am now in Inverness and did more mileage than this Strava report suggests. How I got here is for the book. I changes the route en route, partly because of a washed-out bridge but also because there was too much gravel through what was nondescript forest.
Got some great drone photographs of the descent to Loch Ness from the Bothy beneath the Corrieyairack Pass. Pix will appear on the gallery soon.
Tomorrow I take the LNER train direct from Inverness to Newcastle, before heading back up to Scotland on train to carry on this first part of my 4,500 ride around Britain’s best bits. Thanks for being along with me for the ride.
Hi Carlton
Great to chat with you in Blackburn bothy!
I completed the Scottish National Trail in just under 16 days, and have just got my footage edited and uploaded to youtube.
If watching a middle aged man walking the length of Scotland is to your taste here is a link to my videos.

Hope the weather is kinder to you on the second leg of your journey!
All the best,
Gavin
Congrats, Gavin!
I was in awe of the distances you walked each day. Your logic made sense — in that if you can walk at 4mph and walk for, say, 10 hours you can walk 40 miles — but still boggles my mind because 40 miles on a bike, through back country and hills, isn’t easy. I’ll watch your vids (already watched one, and subscribed earlier).
