Day 11 — Pitlochry to Aberdeen via Stonehaven

by | Jun 13, 2024 | 0 comments

Well, that was my longest ride for a while. Felt strong most of the day. Flagging towards the end.

Wanted to get to Aberdeen without getting wet, and did.

In Stonehaven a woman asked “Is that a gravel bike?” She’s already got a touring bike and a mountain bike but was going to do a challenge ride soon and was wondering whether a gravel bike would be a good idea. I said it would be, explaining that I did a technical MTB ride yesterday yet was able to do a long road ride today.

Gravel bikes are perfect for touring.

Glad to finally arrive at the Aberdeen Ibis. I have a view over the port, and ate half of the gift chocs straight away. Got 5,500 calories to replace.
