One of my journalism jobs is to review 5-star hotels (I know, tough gig, but someone’s got to do it) and so I’m used to high-end breakfasts. The breakfast at the Ibis Hull is up there with some of the best!
There was porridge, fresh fruit, a good selection of pastries, a bean-to-cup coffee machine, and, of course, cooked breakfast options. This is manna for a cycle tourist, esp as items fuelled me for the full day.
It was a wet start, damp in the middle, but dry and almost warm by the end. I’m still in a gilet and arm warmers mind.
Lots of history en route today, including some damn fine churches.
No book loop today just a quickish day in the saddle to get into a hotel room for *the* match.
Improved weather might have a dawn start on the cards tomorrow, with a short book loop to ride before heading to Leicester where I’m giving a talk at Cycle City conference. A talk on my 1930s cycle tracks project.
